Mikhail lost his parents when he was very young, and lived with his sister Jessica and childhood friend Klan Klang, both of whom he was very close to. Jessica was a top class sniper in the military, and was the boy's role model in life. Unfortunately Fate was not kind to the boy; Jessica was court-martialed on the offence of shooting the commanding officer she was having an affair with during a friendly fire. Prior to the event, they had broke up the relationship, and it wasn't certain if Jessica shot him on accident or if she did it out of spite. Not long after that she committed suicide, leaving Mikhail with nothing but her legacy as a sniper. Despite the rumours, he never believed that his sister shot her lover on purpose, and is still trying to find the truth about the accident.

Fast forward to present time - Mikhail had enrolled himself in Mihoshi Academy Spaceflight Department, along with his friends Alto Saotome and Luca Angelloni, the former switching from Kabuki opera to piloting a year ago. He's also the 2nd Lieutenant in the S.M.S. (Strategic Military Services), a private special military service for the New U.N. Forces. Originally, he and Luca kept their involvement with the S.M.S. a secret from Alto, but circumstances revealed their secret, which annoyed both Mikhail and Alto, moreso the latter. As payback (though it was more like abuse of power), Mikhail kept running Alto ragged during his training, forcing the other to work his way to the top.

The news of Galaxy being attacked by Vajra, as well as the rapidly increasing swarms of the space bugs attacking Frontier meant that Mikhail had to be on constant alert, as the S.M.S. crew were mobilized for the war against Vajra. Things looked better after the army employs Ranka's singing as a weapon and they managed to wipe out the Vajra swarms outside of the spaceship, but it took a turn for the worse when it was discovered that there was a nest of Vajra in the convoy itself.

The surprise attack by the newly hatched Vajra forced Mikhail and those with him (Alto, Ranka, Luca and Klan) to flee from Mihoshi Academy to the S.M.S. headquarters and seek shelter as well as gather weapons to fight the bugs. Before all this, Klan had dropped hints here and there about her liking for Mikhail, and she summon enough courage to tell him straight out in the end, but Mikhail didn't reply immediately. When the Vajra invaded the building, one of them made a beeline for Klan who was in the macronizing chamber with the intention of breaking the glass and disrupting the macronizing process. Mikhail aimed and shot at the bug, causing it to change its course and head straight for the sniper. Not afraid to die for his friends, Mikhail continued to fire, only to have the bug land on him and stab him in the stomach. He confessed to a crying Klan in the chamber, and before anyone could save him, he was sucked into outer space...

Personality:
On the outside, Mikhail doesn't seem like anyone special, aside from the fact that he's a very big flirt with the ladies. When Mikhail meets new women, he turns on the charismatic flirting up to 100%, maybe more, tossing out cheesy pick up lines and practically oozing charm from every fibre of his body. It doesn't really matter to him whether he gets a response; he'll continue to flirt shamelessly, sometimes upping the game when the woman he's flirting with flirts back. Even with all his verbal flirting, rarely would you find him touching women unnecessarily. He respects women, which possibly stems from his respect and adoration of his sister. Girls younger than him are safe from his flirtations, as he treats them more like a younger sister: case in point, Ranka and micronized!Klan. With men however, Mikhail approaches them with caution, putting a safe distance between himself and the man he's talking to. Unless they're close to him, like Alto, Luca and Ozma, to name a few, he will take on a pretty neutral tone, bordering on snark if need be.

The reason for this discrepancy stems from his childhood. The loss of his parents doesn't impact him as much as the loss of his sister Jessica. As mentioned earlier, his parents died when he was very young, thus he was brought up by Jessica, who he looked up to as a sister as well as a mother figure. Jessica was perhaps the only one who taught the boy everything she knew, from basic survival to sniping skills, so when she committed suicide by hanging herself, Mikhail was devastated. He lost the only person who was his everything, and until now, Jessica is a very sensitive topic for Mikhail, so much so that he actually punched Alto in the face for bringing her up, when normally he'd simply brush the other teen off or tease him in return. When he found out the cause behind Jessica's death (she hung herself after being court-martialled for shooting her commanding officer who she had an affair with), it caused him to have commitment-phobia, since he will always associate a relationship with death. That is why he's always flirting, but never serious in his relationships, which is also why he kept his feelings for Klan a secret even though he knew she likes him as well, because if he acted on them, he'd surely die. (He did die in the end, after he confessed to her.)

Never forget that Mikhail is still a soldier under all that sugary sweet flirtations. He's an ace pilot and an excellent sniper in his own right, taking after, and is seen to surpass, his sister Jessica's sniping skills, with his motto 'one shot, one kill' (which also applies to women, unsurprisingly.) Top of his class, he never fails to rubs it in Alto's face, calling him 'Eternally second-best Princess Alto', much to the other's annoyance. He's tough on his colleagues (especially the 'Princess') when it comes to training, at one time pushing Alto to work in the highest possible difficulty setting on the Gear because he knows Alto will definitely ace the routine on the lower settings.

Even with what seems to be careless attitude due to his flirtations, Mikhail is acutely aware of his surroundings, noticing little things that others would miss. He advised Alto to make his decision between Ranka and Sheryl, even when his best friend didn't realize the two songstresses were fighting over him. He suspects something is amiss with Grace before anyone else, but kept it to himself since he didn't have proof. He is also aware of Klan's crush on him and likes her in return, but he didn't follow through until he was close to death, telling her that he'd be accused of statutory if he ever went out with her in her micronized form.

Some side notes: even though his name is spelled as -German/Russian- Mikhail (ミハエル), most of his friends and the whole school knows him as -French- Michel (ミシェル). Nevertheless, he answers to both, not minding the pronounciation at all. Also, it is speculated that he has Zentradi blood in him, as both him and his sister have pointed ears and he had Klan as a childhood friend, but it was never elaborated on. However, for this rp, Mikhail will have Zentradi lineage though it will be dilute. Also, taking into consideration that his sister Jessica's grave has 'Repose en paix', and the fact that he has two different pronounciations of his name, I would assume that he is French-German mix on his Human lineage.

Powers/Abilities: Aside from being an awesome sniper with perfect vision, Mikhail doesn't have any other special powers or abilities.

Prose sample:

The first wave of nausea hit Mikhail as he was stabbed by the alien bug, but instead of hearing the rush of blood out from his body, vertigo hit, and he was disorientated for a very long while. When he regained his senses, he was still bleeding, but instead of having a Vajra on him, he faced a broken, almost decimated landscape, not unlike the carnage he witnessed before he returned to the headquarters.

He looked around, still clutching at his wound. There seemed to be a building of sorts in the near distance, and, stumbling, Mikhail forced himself to walk, even while wearing the Gear. He wasn't a soldier for nothing, and he was pretty pleased with himself for not bleeding everywhere even though the gash on his stomach was huge.

His glasses were broken, but it didn't matter. Everything here was faded for some odd reason, which made it easier on his eyes since he didn't have to squint so things look less sharp. Soon, he reached the building, and with a hiss, he managed to make it through the front door before he collapsed from fatigue and bloodloss.

When Mikhail regained consciousness, he found himself on a bed in a room without his Gear. He grunted and sat up, immediately reaching for his stomach. His clothes were removed, and he's clad in only a bathrobe, his stomach patched up haphazardly underneath it. Well, it was better than having blood gushing out everywhere.

Oh, right, the Gear! Mikhail groaned when he noticed the missing Gear, immediately searching the whole room in vain. "Fuck, Luca's going to kill me if he knows what happened to his pride and joy," the pilot muttered to himself, scratching the back of his head worriedly. He knew how important the Gear was to the younger boy, and even a little dent would send the other into a worry-fit. And this seemed to be a good place to throw a worry-fit, if Luca was around.

While searching for the Gear, Mikhail noticed a package neatly wrapped on the bedside table. Curiosity got the better of him, and he sat back down on the bed to inspect the package before slowly unwrapping it. His school clothes, some casual clothes, a repaired flight suit, two pairs of new glasses (sweet!) and his wallet were in it, and Mikhail sighed in relief. At least some other things weren't stolen.

He wore one of the new pairs, eyes quickly adjusting as the prescription glasses made his vision less sharp, before he dressed up in the casual clothes given. With all his movement, the bandages were starting to loosen, and a bit of red was starting to stain the white cloth. Crap, he had better find something to stitch it back up or at least, change the bandages frequently. Another quick glance around the room told him that there's nothing of the first aid kind, and he sighed again, tightening the bandages as much as he could with a wince.

Well, time to explore outside the room then.
